Locating WVO a problem?
I'm new to the site and new to being a Mercedes owner! My goal with purchasing a Mercedes Diesel was to convert it to burn VO..... And after reading all the great threads on this form I decided to go with a two tank system from a reputable company (Grease Car). Once I got the fuel lines purged of air, it has run surprisingly well. I have sprung for their Co-Pilot and with the control on auto, you can't even tell when the car switches to WVO!
However, there is one problem that concerns me. The supply of WVO. My wife tells me I'm not happy unless I worry about something.... but I think this concern is a pretty valid. I have a couple seasonal sources that I collect from at the present time, but I expect these to go away at the end of boating season. I have approached some local restaurants to find out that waste management companies are now actually paying the restaurant to pick up their oil. I have found out they are not paying much, but it is enough to discourage the restaurants to mess around with scavengers like myself (who could be more unreliable than a professional service). I guess my questions are: "Has anyone else faced these issues?" "... in middle Tennessee?" "Does anyone know where a guy can find (or buy) a quantity of WVO in middle TN?"
