How Hot Is Too Hot - removing water

so i was heating my veggie oil to remove water, and got it hot enough that it started smoking. not water vapor, but oil smoke

can i still use it for bio-diesel

Yes. Veggie oil boiling point drops gradually with frying, that is one of the reasons the oil is changed. Basically the properties of the oil changes with repetitive frying but it can still be made into bio-diesel. So I would not worry about what you have done.

thanks i'm new at this and it is my first 30 gallon batch

1st one gallon batch turned to soap - pure soap

2nd one gallon batch turned out perfect

Pure soap? Was this after a water wash? Add some salt and heat and see what happens....

No the menthanol boiled out and I had a half gallon of soap in about 10 seconds
