FOR SALE: My in-house refinery drums-cones
I am contemplating going to a smaller system to make micro batches of WVO. If that should occur, I would like to sell my x2 55 gallon drums with welded cones. These have served me well over the last few years. Includes the 2 drums with welded cones, the support arms holding them up, all piping, et cet. No motor no centrifuge, just the drums and pipes set-up.
Local pick up only. Zip 29229 Columbia, South Carolina. $200.00 or reasonable offers for trades. This is a perfect set up for larger WVO set ups. I believe I have over $200 just in parts, so a decent deal IMO. Pictures coming soon. |

OK, I've gotten a lot a few messages. I may have access to a truck. Assuming I need to bootstrap a trip, I can drive to common points N, S, E, or W, probably no more than 100 miles. So, that puts delivery to Augusta, GA, or Charlotte, NC, or towards Savanah, GA, or along where I-26 meets I-95.

OK, last sale fell thru ... too far of a drive. So, it's back for sale.

Would these make good components of a biodiesel processing system?

They have the cones for settling. I don't do biodiesel, but straight grease. Straight grease set-ups I see are just 55 gallon drums with a threaded pipe thru the bottom to create a "sump". I will post some snappies tonight or over the weekend. I know I am able to drain off crap so that should be the same as the drain off for gycerin.

Yeah, I've been long toying with the idea of creating a biodiesel refining system. I just need the parts. I figure a settling tank or two would be a start.
I'm coming to the meet near Columbia next month and could pick them up.

Here are some snappies. I was a loafer most of the day, but at least I took them. LOL.
$200 does NOT include the band heater, or pump, centrifuge, et cet. I am keeping those items for my micro-refinery. It includes the 2 drums with welded cones, piping, valves, metal stands, et cet. The $200 covers the costs of materials, e.g., 2 cones, drums, the costs of welding, the piping and valves, aluminum lid. I used these without any issues for about 4 years. It's a very robust system and I looked at some biodiesel set-ups and I would say this could easily be used. However, please note, I have not used or made biodiesel except tiny experimental batches just to see how one does it. I burn straight grease or blends of grease with #2 or RUG, or combinations thereof, so I don't know a bunch about the biodiesel process. If you had to make this set up, you would easily invest at least $200 plus a whole weekend worth of tinkering. Whoever buys it, I suggest a mid-sized pick up truck and taking the whole set up as one unit. |

I'll leave this to someone who is processing just the grease. They look like nice tanks.

As a follow-up to some recent emails / PM, I think it will be about impossible to ship this unless someone wants to pay ALOT ... It is not worth to ship. Local pick-up is the only viable solution
I can help out loading it up. It will fit on the back of a small pick-up and I see no issue loading / keeping it together. |

LOL ... reluctantly and the vast junk empire in the garage is eroded, and by the time my youngest attends college I am guessing most will be gone. I got about a year to enjoy it.
