Diesel to Electric

Anybody else thinking about converting their favorite Mercedes to an electric motor once battery technology improves? Im going to make my OM617 into a coffee table or a boat motor to remember the beauty.

There's a company that makes conversion kits right now on custom order, and one of their kits can get a T2 Volkswagen Microbus up to 60mph in 5 seconds. costs like seven grandish.

Looking myself for a nice rust free 83-85 W123 to convert.

There's a guy by the name of Arlin Sansome on youtube who's convert a Honda to use a Leaf motor, did a lot of custom motor controller work. 80kW standard in a leaf and is putting 290 or so kW at the moment into it....

A wrecked Leaf is much much cheaper than any conversion kit, but takes more time to convert its gear over of course.

As for too heavy, Mercs are by no means too heavy considering many swap SUVs to electric.
