Bondo on a Benz?!?

Shlomo's(1979 w123) had a dent since I've known him, and I'm ready to fix it! It's on the front door and looks like someone hit a bit of a pole?

I know to get a rubber mallet(?) and to beat the dent out from inside the door to help level it up-- I know to knock down the high spots so they don't poke through the final skim coat.

How do I remove the trim from the middle and bottom of the door? I didn't want to just pry on the car heh heh

Any advice? Here's an image or two:

Actually the trim on the middle can probably be worked off from one end. It does pry straight off so to speak.
Depending on your body working ability or lack of it might be easier for you to get another door. Thats if there are plenty around cheap of course. Another concern is sometimes you have to shrink the metal. You may not posses enough equipment to really pull this off.
Once you start fill work you have to paint at least the door. So generally speaking the new door is not a greater hardship in general.
Because of gains in paint matching today it is a little easier to match the older faded colours as well.
