How Were W123s Painted?
Searched the forum, nothing came up.
Have a factory Dunkelblau 1985 W123 TE with dull paint on the roof, where can see flecks of medium light green. I thought primer on Mercedes was always a light grey, so what are the flecks of green? If it helps, same color under the hood in hard to reach places (show you, but the cold has stuck the hood). Having another 1985 W123 (totaled by a elderly lady plowing into the rear) and never acted like had clear coat. Were there some non-metallic colors where clear was used? Reason I am asking is because single stage if not thin, can be buffed back. But, if base-clear, there is nothing that will bring it back. Thank y'all in advance!
