Fresno area recommendations?

Anyone know of a good shop for a diesel in Fresno or surrounding areas? Thanks!

I can't tell you which one. But I can tell you about my experiences.

Sebring West: Just by looking at their salesman make me feel like to vomit. "Forget about it" is what I said to them last time I was there.

German Auto Repair: Charge what they did not do (did I say thief?), break more stuff than they repaired.

German Auto Werks: Quote me $400 for 2 motor mounts installed. Told me the parts are $100 each.

Honestly, every time I hear these jerks call themselves "professional" makes me feel disgusted. These guys here in Fresno repairing MBs basically are in the robbery business. But, you know what, thanks to them, and thanks to live here in Fresno, I am on my way to become a semi-competent DIYer.

I would rather go down to LA to find shop that I can trust if I really need to.

So are there any good repair shops in Fresno? I just bought a '83 300DT that may need some work. I will be doing my own valve adjustments, oil changes, etc., but would like to find a compendent repair facility for the injectors and IP when I need work.

I also had a bad experience with Sebring West when getting an air filter for my other car (couldn't even lookup my application, just pulled a box from the shelf)! If they cannot have compendent staff working the parts counter, what's happening in the service bay!

Thumbs up Fresno HAS a competent, affordable, qualified repair shop....

European Automotive Service
1855 E Gettysburg Ave
Fresno, CA 93726
559-225-5403

Kenny, Julian, Todd and the guys are the absolute BEST, as far as I'm concerned. They have ALWAYS shot me straight with anything regarding my 97 E300D. Their hourly shop rates are competitive, but their REAL draw is that they have pretty much ALL come from previous employment at various dealerships over the years, so they're FACTORY TRAINED, not just shadetree mechanics or hobbyists/car enthusiasts. And, at least in my experience, if your car doesn't NEED a part, you won't be SOLD a part you don't need! Meanwhile, in August '08, our local STEALERSHIP tried to take me for a BRAND NEW $5000 tranny....European Auto had me repaired, with a 1-year warranty FOR ONLY $2200...OUT THE DOOR!!! For me, that's about enough said! Give 'em a call! I'm sure you'll be happy with them. As for any of the others in town...I've never had any experience with any of them, good or bad, as European has had my business from day one! Why go anywhere else when I'm comfortably satisfied where I already am?!
