Antenna Not Working After Blown Fuse-85 300SD

Hello All,
Yesterday I posted a problem regarding dome light/interior courtesy lights not working and have since replaced all fuses. The lights are now working (Fuse #15 was fried), but my antenna IS NOT! I noticed that these items are all on the same fuse circuit. Still picking up local radio, although some stations are fuzzy. Beginning to think fuse blew due to antenna failing??
I have tried to operate the dash antenna switch to no avail, it doesn't move at all. Any suggestions guys? I have just recently overcome several glitches and had fallen in love with the car all over again...now another glitch!

Not an expert on your car but on my 123 I had a similiar experience. Everytime the antenna was called on it would blow the fuse. I had to replace the motor, and later the circuit board.

pretty easy to trouble shout if yours is like a 123, but you will need a multimeter. I would find the antenna and unplug, if it is the reason why you are blowing fuses it will stop that. Secound see if the antenna is getting the signal. In my car the plug has five pins if memory serves: GND, 12 Volt constant, and 3 signals. If the radio is on, car is on, and the antenna button is set to up, three pins are hot with 12volts. If you turn of the radio, or the car, of the antenna button, one will 12 volt will drop except for the constant.

At anyrate this should help you to see if your antenna is working because it is getting a signal from the car or not. If you antenna is busted I would suggest you pay for a new one instead of try to fix it. I tried fixing it, and unfortunately ended up buying a new one. I replaced the gear, motor, but when the circuit board went, I could not find a new one, so I had to replace it anyway...

Try this too

Check and see if you hear the antenna motor working when you start or stop the car.
I had a similar problem and the motor gear wasn't meshing with the antenna gear. There was a plastic piece between the gears that broke.

Anyway I was able to hear the motor but nothing was happening.

If

you are lucky.
The antenna mast cable is jammed or broken.
Remove the antenna motor assembly, open it and check.
If you are not lucky, the motor is dead.
Get a used one...
