Exclamation 1993 300E Help?

I have ingherited a 300E from my parents, and I got a new Alpine CD/MP3 head unit intstalled. The rear speakers did not work, and the guys who did the install said I just needed to get new speakers. I did, and wired them to my HU, but it still shuts the whole system down when I turn it on. Is there an easy way to solve this? What is the wiring pattern for the rear speakers? Are there any possible alternatives?
Any help would be awesome!

sounds like you have a short in the wiring possibly.

Did the factory fader switch get bypassed?

The rear speakers are wired through the fader. The front dash speakers are not. If there were to be a short, where could I find that and fix the problem? Any suggestions?
