560sl stereo question.

I recently purchased an 86 560sl. The stereo in the car is an aftermarket sony with 6 disk in trunk..relatively nice stereo..but the 4 in stock speakers sound horrible. I am considering putting new speakers and an amp into this car...i have some 51/4 MB Quart from my old Acura and an Alpine amp...for the 4 in in the dash what do you suggest as speaker manufacturer? I am considering more Quarts and Blaupunkt...the car audio place is pushing Eclipse.
