129 Radio Removal

My 1990 500SL has the factory AM/FM Cassette radio which I would like to remove to access the switches in the center console. My repair CD shows 2 MB "keys" are to be slid under the radio for removal. Has anyone found something that will work in place of the MB tools or are there any other methods to remove the radio? Thanks

In a pinch I have used my knife blade on my small swiss army knife or a fingernail file.
