OK, I am happy with my Becker 1492 radio, I was thinking of installing a Pioneer with IP bus radio that I have but found a Alpine CP changer that works with the existing wiring harness so I saved a lot of time and effort installing an aftermarket, and frankly the Becker sounds good to my ears so its staying for now.
But I want to add a switch to break the connection to the antenna so that when I turn the radio on and play CD's I won't wear out the antenna motor, at least not have to listen to it winding up and down all the time. I even have the Zebrano switch panel with added hole for the AGM switch to use for the antenna switch (I wonder why MB left this antenna switch off in later cars?) If successful I'll post a how-to story for this modification. So does anyone know which pin on the rear of the radio (and which connector too) this signal is on? I started to buy a Becker to find out by experimentation but no one is selling them with the plugs so that's a bummer. I could probably find how to make a nuclear bomb online easier than finding the schematic for a Becker 1492. Any suggestions? TIA, DDH |
