Broken 1432 volume switch
I have a Becker 1432 in my 300SD, and I got it working recently, god some audio (not particularly loud), and it wouldn’t work to go louder or softer. Pressing down to reduce volume has no friction or resistance. I suspect some lever in there is broken.
On the 1432, the faceplate can come easily off of the body. So I suspect that the faceplate might be able to be further taken apart and some parts replaced. Any experience doing this? Has anyone else encountered a failure of the volume switch. Note that it is a paddle switch, not a knob…. Ive found lots of info on the repairs for the head units with knobs… Thanks!
