Hello
I own a 89 300e and wanted more bass, but im not sure how to proceed. I was thinking of having a free air sub setup, placing a 8" sub where the first aid kit is placed. But from what i have heard the bass is not that great as compared to other setups. I listen to all types of music and i dont want anything extremely loud. Should i go ahead with the free air sub setup or should i try something else...If anyone has a free air sub setup please let me know how it performs... Thanks

If you haven't checked this thread yet, there is a long discussion on different types of subs, including free air, in w124 chassis cars, with links to pics of installs, and comments by lots of people who really know stereo. Yup... make sure the board you use is held down though. Some window insulation foam and a few small screws can work fine. :-) Enjoy
