99 SL500 Radio Theft Code HELP?
I recently installed a new battery- and it reset the radio-- without knowing the code for sure I attempted multiple times to guess it-- and of course, it is now stuck on the "WAIT"-- I found out the code but it seems it is too late because it has been on WAIT for over three weeks.... YIKES!
I tried to reset it again by dissconnecting the battery and then reconnecting but it did not work-- Does anyone know the universal "RESET" code--- that will let me choose a new code? IF you do PLEASE SHARE- I am trying to avoid the dealer charges of a zillion dollars just to punch in a few buttons! THANKS!!! |

GRRRRR, mines stuck in the "WAIT" mode too!!!!
I have my code card, and I wasnt able to enter the code fully because my No. 1 button decided to not work for the first time at just the right time....., so I took the face of the radio off to bypass the No1 button by pressing it directly, and I havent been able to do so because I have a feeling that the radio is now on 24 hour limp mode; WAIT. Does anybody know how to bypass this??

I usually just drive to & from work and back-- a 20 minute drive....
the other day I was forced to go to the airport to pick up a friend-- I was stuck in traffic so I was in the car for over an hour with the Radio on "WAIT"-- & it suddenly worked!!! Apparently, if your radio is locked out you will need to let it sit on WAIT for 24 hours in which the car is ON.... and thus, the radio is ON. OR you need to leave the car on with the radio on for an extended period of time in order that it will reset itself. I hope this helps! |
