should i tell them what to do?

i went to some car audio place and they said sizes were 3 inches in the front and 3.5"s in the back.. iwas like wtf mate??? should i tell them they are noobs? should i tell them to make 4" and 5" fit in the back? do we need to cut away the sponge? and lastly should the thing be re-wired? or should i use the same? i heard it was impossible to wire the system with the old wires.. i was confused.....and im going to stay with the becker headunit for now... is that wise? im not looking for loudness to be heard around the block.. just enough for the inside which is what i have right now. does JL makes sizes this small because i heard they were one of the best audio speakers... can i get enough for speakers for around $250??

Is this going in a YUGO, a LADA , a Ford or a Mercedes..............

And what year and model.

I got MB Quart speakers for my W123 6.5 in the back and 4" in the front for less than $250 and these were brand new.

Year and model are very important..........as they all don't have the same speaker sizes / mounting limitations.

I am not familiar with your model so I can't comment further.

You might wasnt to edit your signature in User CP........to reflect what car you own. If you only have the one Benz people will know what one you are talking about even if you don't spell i t out in the post......see at the bottom of my posts how my vehicle information is displayed.

Thumbs up

I have JL XRs in my Z and they are hardcore power hungery speakers.

Do you plan to run them off a head unit or an amplifier?

Here is some information that might be helpful:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZyYWQam5bPn/cgi-bin/SuperProdGroup.asp?g=399&avf=N

this is infomation that came up for your specific vehicle -- but you might want to re-enter it on the web-page (top right hand corner) just to make sure. In any event, its a good starting point.

Oh, well it's not really worth upgrading the speakers with a stock headunit. They're made to work with each other, I wouldn't be suprised if it sounded worse due to the speakers being less efficient (less output at the same power level).
