w210 - 96 E300D Stock Radio Removal
I was trying to replace my stock non bose radio at the local audio shop. The release clip on the lower left of the radio is broken and cannot be released with the special tool. The one on the right can easily be released. Any idea on how to remove the radio. Can the radio be accessed from below by removing the tray or ashtrap below that?

Radio removal with one release tool inoperative
Phinphan,
I have the same issue that you had some time ago. One of the radio removal tool latches on the radio is apparently broken and will not release. Actually, the removal tool will not engage at all on the left side. I have the ashtray removed. How did you release the radio with access from below? Thanks, Ken
