Basic questions about upgrading '92 190E system

I'm planning to install a MP3 CD head unit (possibly the JVC KD-SH99), install an amp, and add/replace some speakers. I know very little about car audio, so I am doing some research. My father has a PrecisionPower 4200AM amp that I may be able to use in the system. I am not interested in a loud system with booming bass. I'd like to avoid making any difficult modifications to any systems, if possible. Could anyone make a recommendation on what to consider or where to get more information? Thanks very much!
