Wiring problems - hooking up cd player in 1987 190e
Dear All,
I would very much appreciate if anyone could help me hooking my new Sony CDX-GT20 cd player in my 1987 Merc 190E. I Have installed new sony 4" speakers on the dashboard and will purchase and install rear speakers at a later stage. No problem there. The speakers are not yet connected to the cd player. Problem starts when trying to figure out how to connect the cd player. I can only see 4 cables coming out from the Merc: Red, Black, Brown and Grey. I have tried different options using the player's yellow and red cables but nothing happens. The radio simply does not fire up . Could anyone help please? Thanks in advance. |

Never mind...I figured it out...During one of my first tests I must have used the wrong cable and blew the cd's fuse !!!. I have changed the fuse and it works perfectly. In case anyone has the same problem please find below the connections:

Hey Charlie, I'm with you - I have everything hooked up in my '84 300D except the gray and brown - and my power antenna does not work...

Here's the diagram I used to redo my daughter's '91 190e2.6 On my 1st try I bypassed
the fader with very poor results. I wound up just running new wires to all four speakers. Note: no trunk amp involved. Wiring CODE COLOR BK black BR brown BU blue IV ivory GN green GY grey TR neutral/transparent OR orange PK pink RD red VI purple WT white YL yellow |
