CLK320 (2001) has no radio code, is this possible?
I have to disconnect the battery to clean the terminals. The local dealer is saying the radio has no radio code.
They even pulled the radio out and checked. I thought all Mercedes radios had a code?  Not true?The radio is the type that has the navigation screen. Thanks

I have not disconnected the battery yet.
I want to know if the dealer is right that the radio does not need a code. Otherwise I have to mickey mouse a device to plug into the lighter to maintain power while the battery is disconnected. Is there such a device for sale, and what is it called?

Call up the dealer and ask if that will happen if you disconnect the battery. Is it call up Penske Mercedes in West Covina. You live in the LA area and that dealer isn't far from there if you end up having problems. call the service desk about it. here is there number (866) 303-5401. Hope that this can help you.

some newer models do not have a radio code, the actual theft deterrent portion is stored in the smart key,
