Flip LCD Headunits in a 300E?
Hey Audio People!
Has anyone tried to install one of those slide out screen head units word in a W124 chassis car? I know these unit will not seem to fit since the headunit is buried deep in the console, but I thought I would ask. Like this unit: AVH-P5000DVD Thanks!

I had one in my wagon for a week...
I got tire of having to flip it closed to adjust climate control stuffs.

I have several in my cars. As far as the 124, it does fit in the 92 CE, but didn't fit in the 95 E320 Cab. Hope this helps.

I had one in my SD for about a month but like it was mentioned, I got pissed having to flip it down for the climate buttons and the fact that it always automatically popped out when the ignition was turned.

I suppose the controls on the screen, which are larger than the microscopic ones on the buttons would be nice to have, but otherwise this concept escapes me. Video in a car seems like one more distraction.

Those backup cameras kill me! I can see having one on a 40' RV, but cars? I guess they're a good thing for some people.
The GPS part is good. I forgot about that. If I ever get off the pot and get that Instinct, I'll have a constantly updated GPS on my phone.
