CarPlay with "carabc" module on 2013 GLK?

Hi All,

First post in a while. I have a 2013 GLK. I bought this on amazon:

Then my wife didn't want to install it, we misplaced it, we found it, she changed her mind... and it's been 10 months since I bought it. It's installed now.

Have any of you had any experience with these? It looks great, but I cannot get the sound to come out (like music or phone calls, etc). The old system still uses the bluetooth, the new system is screwy, it's confusing.

I know that it's just a matter of getting the settings dialed in. Since installing it, the instructions and box were lost and I can't find any info on it other than the amazon link.

All the tutorials and youtube videos I have found are from people using it with android. I will use it with an iPhone.

If any of you have experience with this and if you had to monkey with it to get it work, I appreciate any help.

I figured it out..

The car Bluetooth has to allow and connect to the carabc Bluetooth…. Then the phone connects to the carabc also….

So audio goes phone ➡️ Carabc ➡️ MB Bluetooth connection ➡️ Out to speakers.

It sounds good and having Apple CarPlay is fantastic.
