The Nexus 7 has a built in GPS locator, not sure about the Nexus 10 or whether or not it requires wifi

I use my iPhone exclusively as gps. Numerous head units will sync with Realize its not droid but it works the same. It syncs with the phone to display And read gps directions...I use motionx with my pioneer unit, seamless and cheap.

Even I use motionx with pioneer unit,that's really great.

Many phones don't need a data connection for GPS. I use my Lumia without a data plan as a gps without any problems.
