its very intresting to install subs in the w124, with the gas tank behind the rear seats. for all u people that want to do it urself, its quite easy, run the power wires along the side of the front seats, then through the back seats, the key thing is u run the wires up by rear speakers, cut a little hole and run the wire throught the rear speakers, where there are a few holes, so the wires will end up in the trunk. the wires are noticeable if u look through the back window, but i got them limo tinted so no one can see. i will try getting a web site up, but its quite easy, as for the subs, i am using MA DVC 600 watts subs, there nice, 2 10's, inverted in a sealed box. those subs kick butt, louder and more accurate them most 12's, if anyone is intrested, i can get them really inexpensive because i have a friend that works for a distributor. anyway, ill try getting a site up with my car and the audio.

Dont run the wires like that!! You can pinch them and make them short out...

Remove the rear seat, and you'll find a nice hole by the rear seat belt reel thats already got a grommet. Then you cant see the power wires at all!!

i was thinking about that, but i didnt have much time, so i cut a little hole in the grill of the rear speakers, it has enough clearance so the wires wont get pinched. maybe over the summer, i will follow ur suggestion. thanks for the concern

Also dont forget the wires can rub on sharp edges (grill edge) and burn your car down to the ground..

It take me about 2 mins to run a cable thru the rear seat holes. That includes removing rear cushion, unbolting seat back, running cable, bolting seat back, replacing rear cushion.

Be VERY careful with your electrics people, it takes 10 seconds max to start a really BIG fire. Fuse everything, grommet everything, tape everything secure etc etc etc. Never leave anything to chance, not even speaker leads.

Assuming you have 4 place seating, follow this.... if you have a bench in the back, just do this on both sides.

Unclip the bottom part of the rear seat.... (little orange lever at the bottom). Then once removed you should see a bolt at the bottom of the seat back..should be an 8 or 10mm hex bolt. Remove this, then raise the seat back up, and it unclips.

The gastank is not in the way of the hole..., the hole is JUST under the rear speaker! ;-)
