inside the car. first aid box. I still have to do some work to finsih it off.
The port actually stops at the bototm of the first aid box, this top cutout was to allow the sound to come through without rattling the lid. I will also color code it, or I might take the lid off and change it altogether, cutting out a nice hole and speaker cloth covering it. Alon

Here is the amp in my relocated position. I am keeping it here, its out of the way, and yes I did cut the trunk panel to make it sit flush. I hadn't planned on it, but I like it there. I will make a custom cover for that area to hide the wires better and make the amp site flush, with vent holes for it of course. I just cut it with a razor blade, it was easy, and all the ires get to be hidden. I have a longer speaker wire to replace that one, so I can hide that too.
My other amp will sit on the other side ina similar fashion. I am also going to be taking this amp, removing the cover, and painting it and the other amp to match the interior color or just black. Probably matching because I think it will look nice. Anyway, thats the setup. I'll snap some pics of the tweeters in the dash spot too later. Alon

Bit late on this one.. but excellent pics, and is that an R130 SL behind you?
Does the porting give you any boominess at all? i.e. is it a perfectly smooth frequency response, or are there some frequencies which you would say are louder, more obvious than others? later

It depends on the bass level I use. It can be boomy with boomy music, but fairly tight with tight music. The amp has sub frequencies and low pass filter, so it really allows me to find a good medium.

Alon,
Just curious, did you factor in box volume and other parameters when you made the port length as long as it is? If not, that could explain any boominess you're having. |

No It sounds the way I want it to sound.
The port is the same length it was before only adjusted. When I remove ti all together, the bass is too sharp. But witht he port in, it gives it the sound I prefer. I have no sub volume control in the car. My new radio when I get it, will have sub adjustments, and will allow me to better adjust it. But to me when I play boomy music, I want the bass boomy. But I can put in rock and roll, and it will rock. To me the sub in my car sounds the waya sub should. Remmeber its an 8 ohm 10" woofer, so I can play with it a lot. I have it adjusted now for what I would call my optimum sound levels. Alon
