116 body speaker change

I have gone through a lot of messages with conflicting results. I want to change speakers in my 1980 300SD.

Has anyone done this without any mod's being necessary?

What speakers will fit?

Nobody on this whole board has any idea of what type or size of speaker will fit???

I must say this is a first! Must be a rare thing to do.

This should be a pic of your dash opening, we installed a set of eclipse euro 4x6 speakers in it. This is what I would recommend! I am sorry I didn't see your previous post. Let me know if I can help you get them.

Adapter for alpine chm-s620

For Scott at LaJolla -I'm having a hard time finding the adapter for the alpine chm-s620 changer that you recommended for my 1994 C-280. Is the # - MBZALP9 and is it for a trunk installed unit and any info of where to purchase would be appreciated. Also, how do I remove the door panel to the speaker on front door? I think the speaker wire is loose (no sound) and want to check on it. If this is not the problem, I'll be back. Thanks for your help on getting the cd magazine out of the unit. Slid in a straight ruler as you suggested and out it popped.

speaker change

Thanks for the help. I am interested. Could you give me a ballpark price for a pair?

While I am at it do you recommend some back speakers for the same car that would work well.

May also be in the market for a CD/MP3 Player.

Not too worried about being the best, but just sounding good (does not now...).

Thank you again.

The front speakers are 100.00 per pair for the euro eclipse and the rear would be $80.00 for alpine 6.5 in and $120.00 for the eclipse 6.5 in. If you enlarge the opening in the rear you can go to a 6.5in speaker. If you buy front and rears I will not charge s&h. I did find the pic of the eclipse speakers in your dash. Let me know, Scott
