w210 cd changer install questions

Hello,
I just got a used mc3198 changer to install in my 2000 e 320..I understand i have to remove the left side truck "liner" first..the unit has a mounting bracket( i hope its the right one)...
heres my questions...my car has a phone system that is not being used..but whenever you start the car, you hear a beep of dial tone through the stereo...how can i stop that???
also, is the hookup for the cd changer the same since the car has/had a phone???...i dont need the phone hook up..is it as simple as "plug and play" or what else may be needed to get the unit to work???
