sound system upgrade suggestions

Just bought 420sel in houston and the cassette deck died on the way home. I have heard the becker system is not the best so i'm looking for suggestions for replacement. we love to listen to books on tape, but also enjoy cd collections. looking for something of reasonable quality thet installs easily in this chassis. thanks for your help. joe

I have a 1989 300SE and I am looking to get a new head unit and/or amps for it. If you can help me out, that would be much appreciated. what sounds good? what is available and for what prices and how difficult is the installation?
