Replacing Speakers

Hi,

I'm considering replacing the speakers in my 1994 C280. Sometimes I hear crackling on the back driver's door and in the far back.

I just ordered a Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD51 stereo to replace the original so I figuired why not replace the original speakers with Blaupunkt speakers.

Anyone know the dimensions of the speakers in that car?

Thanks

Jonathan

See the D.I.Y. section. John Elliott wrote an excellent article on this subject. Look for "W202 Door Speaker Replacment" in the D.I.Y. section. The stock Mercedes speakers are utter crap. When I replaced the speakers in my C220 I ended up building new custom mounting frames for the 6 1/2" door speakers made out of 3/4" MDF. How far you want to go with this project depends on your budget and your Audiophile desires.
