After being on the fence for some time, I was all set to track down one of these units for my 93 300e when I was told by
"someone' in the know that they felt these produced inferior sound, particularly on the bass.

In searching threads I noted a handful of you have installed these and wondered what your opinions are now that you have had them for awhile.

If I don't do this I am leaning to an Eclipse unit, although I am having a difficult time finding a competent installer here in Cincy.

I recently installed the BE4602 in my 99 SLK and couldn't be
happier. Great bass & looks original. I dealt with Ed Ebel at

did your slk require an adapter from Becker? I was told that the adapter is the cause or reduced bass from the unit.

Anyways, I have an appointment first thing tomorrow to have an Eclipse installed at about $200 less than the Becker was going to cost.
