I would like to replace the stereo in my 350SDL, but was told that the speaker system had amps built in and that you could not just replace the head unit (which is what I want to do). I do not want to rewire the whole car! I did notice that there is an amp in the trunk that is on the right side above the wheel well. I would consider changing out the Amp.
