Mercedes are just starting to supply Sirius kits for the 2004 models. No factory XM Radio kits are available for either BMW nor Mercedes.
I think 2004 is the earliest model that will take the kit. Since I like XM Radio much better than Sirius, I think I'm going to buy a portable XM Radio package that I can use in my 300E and also in a new E-Class I hope to buy soon. The Mercedes kit is $679 plus labor to install it. For that you get 14 months of Sirius service. The portable XM Radio kit is about $200 with either an FM or cassette adaptor. |

I have a 2001,, and if the 2004's are now coming out with the XM radio,, then i would imagine that it would fit in the same spot, because they havent changed teh dash at all.. As far as wiring goes, i woould imagine i may have to run an antenna or possibly use the prewired antenna already there,,, any ideas people?

Installation Instructions For 2004 C-Class
Go here and click on C Sedan.
http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsite/satellite_bulletins.htm These are the instructions for installing the Sirius kit in a 2004 C-Class. It'll show you want comes with the kit and how it's installed. I don't know if it could be retrofitted to older C-Class cars. The alternative is to go to Best buy and get an XM Radio Roady and FM modulator adaptor. |

There is no change to anything on the dash. The changes are in the trunk. The electronics that come with the kit tie into the fiber optics bus just like a CD changer would. See my post above. |
