Another..... the best thing to clean MBTex
The Mr. Clean cleaning pads. They work great and I have Parchment interior in my 1977 300D, very light and 27 years old. Took the dirt and grime right off.
I'm betting that the pads have little or no cleaning agent, but I swear even a pad that has been used to death sucks the dirt out of the MBTex. Hands down, best I have ever used. JCD |

I have experienced excellent results from just Comet or Ajax or whatever bargain brand can be found under just about anybody's sink, water, and a scrub brush. I had the greasiest, nastiest, filthiest interior and it took the scum right off my seats, the kickpanels, the seat trim, everything. Works great.

I've got some of those Mr. Clean magic erasers. They really do border on magic. Never thought of using them on upholstry. Thanks for the idea!

I agree... the pads work great... but be careful using hash cleaners or any sort of cleaner not intended for upholstery... I have had some bad experiences in the past when working on cars i had owned previously.. such as bleaching of the upholstery and whatnot. Since then, i have found in my opinion that the absolute BEST way of cleaning M-B Tex is using a pad, or medium stifness bristle brush (or even a toothbrush). And for cleaners, on un-cleaned high residue MB-Tex I used a medium concentration mixture of simple green. Then follow with 303 Aerospace protectant.
Spray simple green onto the seats, brush or use pad and clean, then wipe removed dirt resdue off with a clean cloth. Repeat until clean. Use a clean rag, spray simple green solution on rag, and wipe over all MB-Tex surfaces to remove any last light deposits of dirt and grim left over after initial cleaning. After this initial cleaning, heres where the magic comes in to play: Spray 303 Aerospace protectant on clean cloth, and generously wipe onto all MB-tx surfaces. It will dissolve any last amounts on grime that is deeply inbedded in the Tex, and as it does so, dramatically brightens the upholstery color, and adds a natural gloss that leaves behing NO greasy residue like other similar products. I swear by this product.. The 303 has a 100% UV inhibiting agnet, and with regular use will keep your tex protected from UV rays. Its good for use on other surfaces too.. ruber trim around doors, A-pillars, C-pillars, etc.!
