Looks like it's time to get a little more aggressive with the clear coat oxidation on my 89 190E (Black Pearl). I've tried repeated applications of number 9 and for awhile it seemed to be working. However with summer temps in the 108 range here in Tucson the oxidation seems to be "re-appearing." So Lee...what is the next step after number 9? I'll try to apply by hand but my gut says "orbital". Also...depending on what you advise would this be more of a "commercial" Meguiars product that I might have trouble finding? Thanks, as always for your input.

PS-FYI...Per Meguiars..already tried Poly Scrub....great product but I think (like number9) it wasn't abrasive enough.

I would call the Meguiar's help line and talk to them. The type of products you get into here are capable of killing a paintjob. Though I can recommend something I would be more comfortable handing it over to them. Though you should follow their recommendation I would think "Fine Cut" (forget number) would be the next step up. An orbital may help as well. Just remember to use #9, then #7 before rewaxing as the more aggressive products will actually make an otherwise nice finish appear more dull until treated with the finishing products. Let me know what Meguiar's recommends.

Hope this helps...Lee

Lee...You nailed it! They said to keep trying number 9. I explained to them that the oxidation seems to keep coming back after about a 3 month period. They said to use an oribital with "fine cut" but to try a very small portion first. Again, you were right on the money because they said to follow up with number 9-7-Gold Class/26. I'll give it a shot this weekend and keep you posted on the results. Thanks for your input!
