Reinstalling 126 front door panel

Is there some sort of special kung fu that is needed to focus your power so as to re-install a front door panel? I didn't have a problem with the rear panel on my 126, but this front one is giving me fits. When I get the top tabs in place, the lower ones won't go in unless I raise it slightly and then the top ones come out. I can't seem to get all of them to go in at once.

At first I liked this type of pop in clips (I'm fairly new to Mercedes), with the upward slide out style, but I find myself longing for the old pop in (straight in) clips found on most cars.

Anybody an expert with these?

Make sure there is nothing holding the panel out that shouldn't be, and then just finnese it down into place. Sometimes they can be a bugger, but I still prefer them over the other style. You know the speaker goes in after the panel is on, right ?

Uh, don't think I have a speaker, I'll check (it's 40 miles away in my warehouse - don't ask.... it's not the best arrangement but small warehouses are hard to find in these parts).

Thanks, I'll do some deep breathing and focus my mind.

I keep thinking, "Other mortals have done this..."
