steamer
I'm thinking about using one of those household steam cleaners to clean engine/engine compartment.

I tried it and it doesn't do very much except make the engine bay very wet. In theory you'd think that it would help loosen some crud, but it really doesn't. I get better results with a can of GUNK degreaser and a light rinse from the hose.

Here are the results. 3 nights, 2 bottles of simple green and a $29.00 steam cleaner later. I'm happy with the results but it took more time than I thought it would.

Engine cleaner
"Awesome" cleaner/degreaer is far superior to ANYTHING else I have ever purchased. It can be bought at Dollar Tree stores. I will ship to you from MI if you cant find it.

The thing to look for in a steamer is output pressure, I recently bought a Saeco Piccolo. havent tried it on an ehgine bay yet but melted the grime off the sills and works really good on grout too! they can be found at costco online or smartbargains fow about 65 bucks shipped
