Hi,
I have always pampered my 1998 S500 by hand waxing and cleaning it regularly.Now,after reading a thread about Meguiars Glaze,I have decided to use it.Now I need help!I am planning on purchasing the Meguiars Car Glaze 7(does it come in paste,I only found liquid?),Meguiars Gold Class wax (paste of course),Meguiars Hot tire cleaner and I have Meguiars Leather cleaner,and a Clay bar.My questions are,I need directions on how to use the clay bar,and how to prepare my car when using the Glaze.Do I put the Wax first,then the glaze or the other way around?Please help,I am planning to do this soon.I have just ordered new 17'' inch rims for a W220 S600 so I really want to do this and treat the car nicely

When using a clay bar, you need to lubricate the surface of the paint so that the clay bar can be rubbed back and forth without scratching the paint. You can use any spray detailer product, or just dilute a few ounces of car wash liquid in a spray bottle with water.

After claying the paint, apply the glaze, which is just another word for polish. The purpose of a glaze / polish is to beautify the paint.

Last, apply wax.

Yeah, just lightly drag the clay across the car while making sure to use plenty of detailer/soap+water... no need to press firmly or anything. There are tons of tutorials online, try google if you need more help.

Now:I found each of the items,except the clay bar.I would appreciate it if you guys could help me with pricing,do these sound right?
Meguiars Car Glaze 7-$8.00(liquid,does it come in paste?)
Meguiar Gold Class Wax-$10.00(paste)
Which clay bar should I use and how much should it be priced at?

Meguiars #7 is sort of a pastey liquid. It only comes in one form.

I've never been a fan of Meguiar's clay bar. My results have never been good.

I've tried all the clay bars, and my favorite is Zaino Brothers. www.zainostore.com

I also like Clay Magic.

I've had good results with Mother's clay bar.

dunno if this stuff is any good as i"ve not clayed anything before. the thought
of paying $60# for silly putty annoys me. but i also noted that this is on sale
and i suppose that helps. I understand that 4 bars will last you quite a long
time (years?).

Today,I went to Pep Boys and got the Car Glaze and all the other parts.First,I installed brand-new rims on the car,washed the car,clay barred it,put some Scratch-X on it,Glazed it,and finally Waxed it!The Obsidian Black on my S500 was shinning like ive never seen it before!Thanks for all your help guys!-Nilesh
