Cup holder deal

The lack of a cup holder on my 560SL has been a bit of an inconvenience. I looked around at various solutions and generally either didn't like the looks or thought the price was too high. I then got in touch with Mike DuBois of Autonotions, http://shop.autonotions.com/main.sc. He makes cup holders for the 107, the 126 and the 201 chassis. I liked the looks of his product, but still thought it was a little expensive at $79.95 and I wasn't sure how well it would match my interior. Mike also sells on e-bay. His seller name is Morgansdad1. After a few e-mail exchanges with Mike, he told me that I could buy his product and see if I liked the quality and the finish. If I wasn't happy with it, he would gladly refund my money. In addition to this he told me that he was in the process of cutting his prices to $54.99 for the wood grained cup holders and $34.95 for the all vinyl ones. I figured that I couldn't beat that offer. When I asked if he also gave an MBCA discount, he said that he didn't, but wanted to know more. After discussing it with him, he said he would be happy to give an additional 10% discount to MBCA members. Now that's a great deal!! I did order one and am very happy with the product. I also have to say what a pleasure it was to deal with Mike. He was always extremely responsive, courteous and helpful. I have nothing to gain from recommending him, but I think he is worthy of your consideration.

I'm not sure whether Mike's website is set up to accept the MBCA discount yet. If not, just send Mike an e-mail via his "Contact Us" link and he will take care of it for you. He will be asking for your MBCA number.

You allow beverages to be consumed in your car, Frank?! There's no eating or drinking in my car! I never even noticed it didn't have cup holder. . .

I bought a seventy dollar deal from performance products that fits into the center console of my 88 124. It opens up like a book and has two cup holders. It is a little cumbersome to get open, but it holds drinks okay, you just can't use the armrest at the same time. The hassle to it is closing it, though. You have to hold the spring loaded thingies to get the lids to close. I'm not sure if I would get it if I had it to do again. There has to be a better solution. If you see one for 124s, let me know.

I think my 3 year old would quit the family if he didn't get to eat and drink and throw crumbs around the car.

Yeah, I've had three kids and the youngest is almost grown. I know what you're talking about. I always was a "mean dad" when it came to eating in the car.

Ash trays? You mean COIN trays? I smoke cigars, but not in my cars!

haha. my 123.123 was basically a rolling ashtray until I got it... no seriously
i pulled out the one up front. FULL. the 2 back doors FULL.

2 extra ashtrays for the front also in the trunk, both looked very well used, (so that means i have 2 wood, 1 vynil) just incase i need one... but ya... very much only for change/ beauty purposes now... meh. i want cup holders like what we have in our SLK the ones that like pop out from the dash. that would be amazing right. or some sort of mod like the ashtrays in the rear doors that kinda spring loaded pop out in the 03-current E class

right now i rock those like $.98 cupholders that hang on the window && bend in the heat...
i need something to hold my H2O....

no food in my car....
like it matters, smoke stained MB Tex. i removed the carpet for now...

so ya...
its just... yuck right now...
also my side moldings are all removed.
ordered new hood, bumper, front fenders, wheel wells, front subframe, floorpans.

next... shocks/springs front/rear
mount my dayton wires
learn the basics of DIY body work
replace windshield that looks "sandblasted" seriously
replace RR window. FR window mech. along with all door and window seals.
find a more comfortable seat from a different model. I'm thinking like the new E style. WOOT!
um... then paint && redo interior && I'm done!

woot woot!
