Project HWA124 Gallery - Interior & Exterior

I've started this thread to show what changes I'm making to the appearance of my project car.

I was never happy with the factory zebrano trim in my 1989 300CE so I swapped it for burlwood parts. While searching on eBay for the burlwood replacements, I also found four aftermarket trim products that I think work very well in this car:
-Chrome AC rings
-Chrome gearshift frame
-Burlwood gearshift insert
-Burlwood "AMG" gear lever

My eBoost2 gauge has been installed in the typical A-pillar location. Still not sure if I want to keep it here or integrate it into the dash somehow.

Pics are below. There is also a video here

Let me know what you think.

Also debadged the car (only the '300CE' part) for a cleaner look.
Still waiting on a body shop to colour-match the number plate filler panel.

Clear indicator lenses were purchased on ebay along with bulbs that are chrome when off and orange when lit. I've also got some "super-white" bulbs for the headlights which look blue when off but I have not fitted these yet.

The late-model bonnet/hood and S-class grille were already on the car when I purchased it. The one change I've made here was to paint the plastic fins of the grille black (leaving the chrome fin tips as they were).

Great job so far. That burl wood is terrific-looking. Are you going to put the burl gear shift knob on there, too?

Very nice! However, you put the steering wheel on the wrong side... Does the S/W switch operate FGS?

The shift knob is already installed in those pics. It has a burlwood base, black leather grip and brushed aluminium top with AMG logo (unfortunately the flash from my camera makes this last part unclear).
Looks fantastic, trust me.

On the contrary, we put the steering wheel on the RIGHT side.

My mechanic had been trying to enable first gear starts in both sport and economy mode. However, as the transmission currently refuses to shift out of first gear, next week it needs to go back to the guy that did the AT rebuild to fix the problem. Yet another week before I get my car back.

I didn't even notice that, Evil. That must be because everything is reversed in the Southern Hemisphere.

Very nice vehicle... I wish we had those manual climate control systems here in the states.

Okay, I looked again and I did see it. I thought they were all wood knobs. Still looks terrific! I love coupes anyhow, but I've always admired yours.
