Plastic Dye

I know this topic has been covered before but nothing about worlduph dye below has been talked about. Has anyone used this product before? I need to dye the seat hinge covers in the picture below back to the original tobacco color. What should I clean the panels with before I dye them, I'm sure there is some armour all on them. Thanks

Hinge covers for the seats in my 124 were about $25 last time I purchased them. It may just be more cost effective to buy new replacements. The plastic is most likely brittle anyway. If you insits on coloring them, clean them with 99% isopropyl alcohol, that will prep the surface just fine.

I think they look just fine the way they are. Much better than if you remove them and the fall apart . . . .

I was lucky. Only the inside 2 covers were damaged beyond repair removing them. Your color match is not that far off and I would be hesitant to remove them. Are the coupe covers different the the sedans?

I wasn't going to remove them I was going to pull the seat and tape up all the surrounding leather and dye them. Yes the coupe covers are different because the coupes seats fold forward and the sedans don't.

The covers look like they are sienna, I guess the original tobacco color faded out. Thats a bad pic they look more red in real life than in the pic.

The door pockets were dyed tobacco, they were originally palamino, I didn't dye them though.

I had good results with the spray vinyl dye I used on my headliner. I used white however, which is way more generic then the tobacco color. . .Id reccomend using it though, easy to work with and good results. . .
