hole in leather seat

Guys,
I just bought a 300CE and am bringing it back to life. The interior leather is in quite good shape for a 16 yr old car. However, there is a hole about 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep on the drivers seat bolster. I've searched the forum to see if there is anything on repairing something like this but no luck.
I searched the web and a company called "Magic Mender" came up. They have some type of a filler for the hole, then a color matched coating is applied.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this process or company?
Does anyone have any suggestions in general?

If you can find a matching piece of leather, you might be able to cut it to size and attach it to the back side of the seat leather. If it's done right, that would be about as good a solution as any.

Had a bolster issue on SD. I noticed when the back seat was removed there was enough extra material under the seat to fix a hole. I cut a piece larger than my repair area and inserted it under the existing seat cover. Using Aleenes leather glue and a popsicle stick I applied glue around the underside of the tear. Is it perfect? No, but it's not obvious anymore either.

I was thinking that if you were to cut a patch the size of the hole, glue it to a thin piece of backing material, and then glue that to the underside of the seat leather, you'd have a repair that was as nearly perfect as you could hope for.

I have been searching here too looking for solutions for some leather holes. I too found that web site but would like to hear from some folks who have tried it. It almost looks too good to be true.

Here is the site that has samples and sells leather. They sent me two samples, one is perfect. Will order a small piece and see what happens.

I don't think the other site I referenced would be good for small holes, but then I am certainly no expert.
