Hello All:
I am trying to get replacement dash wood for my 1979 300CD. Everywhere I have tried (including PartsShop) is telling me that I have the Zabrano wood. Although, when I look at the dash in my car, it is appears to be Light Burlwood Finish. Is this unusual for a 79 300CD? Is this the 'econo' finish. Admittedly, my 300 CD is a bit Spartan for a Benz, with manual seats, and manual mirrors and such. So I wander if this was an 'entry level' Benz in 1979. After all, the grand and coveted 6.9s were shipping then. What kind of dash wood do other owners of 79 123s have in their cars? Has anyone replaced the dash wood? Where did they get the parts? I have read a few posts about refinishing myself, but I don't have the equipment to do so. Any information or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
