how often to wax?

I have a 85 280SL ( Euro) and a 2004 E320 wagon, both have excellent paint and are garaged and driven little( 280 SL 56K E320 24K). I am now using Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 which gives both cars an excellent shine. Question is, how often should I wax them? Once a year? twice? or more? Can I over wax them? Cars are in Arizona so no snow, salt and not much rain or road dirt.
Thanks Desert....

You'd probably do fine to wax it every 6 months or so. You can check the wax finish when you wash it, if it still beads and feels slick after it's dry the wax is probably still there.

If you really want, you could also polish it once a year or so. Between the garage and the weather down there, it sounds like your paint doesn't get much abuse.

I usually wax when the pubes extend past my thong!

AZ sun is brutal on wax. You're better off polishing them and using a little bit of the "instant detailer" products to spiff them up.

I hit my 250C with the buffer and polish twice a year and once a month or so I give it a good wash and spray with the Meguiar's "Instant Detailer".

It sits uncovered in the driveway but doesn't get driven much.

You may think we don't have road dirt here but the sand blowing around can be a real killer on the lower body panels and don't get me started on the "chip-seal" road repairs they use.

Looks like it's time for the wax.

I'm glad to see he took the precaution of wearing knee pads and shin guards . . . He's obviously very safety-conscious.

A: Why would I want an "over the shoulder" man thong?

And most important of all

B: Why would YOU know about one?

p.s., Nice try Chad but I only wear gold lame'!

Sorry that this is a bit late:-

The Mankini was "invented" by an English comedian who does several silly characters (Ali G and Borat)

http://www.gadgetfabriek.nl/product/18893/2275/kado-idee/strand-gadget/borat-mankini/?osadcampaign=adwords&gclid=COSu0ZKhy50CFcsz3godgX5-sQ

Is the link for you - (sorry site is in Dutch)

As for the original question about waxing your car! Wait until it no longer beads when you wash it... trying to add another coat on top usually makes a bit of a streaky mess of your paint work.
