300D seat bottom only fit into 300CD?

Hi all - I have a 1984 300CD with a worn out drivers seat bottom and a member has a good seat bottom with new springs from an 85 300D for sale. Is the 300D seat a direct bolt-in to the 84 300CD? Thanks for any direction.

Daryl

It may because it's also from a w123 but you'll need coupe seats for the vacuum lockout feature on the backrest.

No. The coupe seat base is longer than the sedan. There are apparently no more dealer-supplied replacement seats in the US, a few in Germany - and they're pretty darn pricey. You can try the pool noodle technique (do a search); there's another vendor that makes a seat repair spring kit; or you can disassemble the bases and swap the driver for the passenger since they're symmetrical.

Panzzer up in DFW has a few coupes, maybe a good seat base or two. Look for his threads in parts for sale.

Welcome to the forum.

From what I could remember, yes! Although, I too would recommend you to go for the pool noodle technique since you are having a hard time confirming it.
