Meguiar's #26 is a blend of carnuba wax and synthetic. Therefore multiple layers will not be as beneficial as compared to others like Zaino. I usually do 2 anyways for areas I fear I missed on the first application.
Zaino is a synthetic so it's more like a sealant than a thin layer of real wax (polymer bond vs natural wax). As for the issue of drying, the coat of wax that stays is only microns thick (or microns thin) therefore it should dry in a matter of minutes. There is no harm in leaving it longer except the "extra" wax on top will also dry thus making the buffing process harder. If you do 2 layers than I would try to let the first one dry overnight. hepde, if you get streaking with the glaze then you're probably not using enough and applying it evenly. The glaze does deepen the color of the paint so if you miss strokes then you'll probably be seeing streaks it in the sun. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Give it another try. I've been using the Meguiar's Professional line for years including the 500E and it's been great. Although I must say the Zaino does last longer. |

To remove any wax from your car use a product called Greese and wax remover which you can pick up at any body shop supply store. Do not do this in the sun.

I wasn't letting to mirror glaze sit long enough, so i was basically just smearing it everywhere, leaving a bunch of streaks. After letting it sit a couple minutes more, it came off nicely and the car looks awesome. I'm definately impressed with the Meguiar products. Thanks for all the tips guys.

glad to hear the good results
hedpe,
There's always a learning curve with new polishes and waxes, it's really hard to get it right the first time unless you've heard the how too's from many many others. Nice to see another well cared for 500.
