Any experience with leatherique dye ?
I have received Leatherique dye. Everything seems fine except that the color pigment (grey code 268) sent to me seems significantly darker than my car seats after I sprayed some on a piece of white paper and compared. I understand that some degree of difference is acceptable but it seems to me that they are two very different colors. I would like to clarify the situation before I ready put it on as I am about at the final stage and cannot use the car til it is finished. And is it possible that the color will become much lighter on leather when fully cured.
Please share your experience with me if you have had any. Thank you for any input! |

I had similar concerns when I purchased my leatherique dye. I sent them a swatch of my color yet the dye did look different when i applyed it. It matches fine now that it's dry. You could try doing a small area before you commit to the whole process. I would highly suggest taking everything apart to dye it properly. I could not imagine doing this with the leather still in the car,, what a PITA!! I even went to the extent of removing the seat backs and the botom half from the verttical half. Lots Of Work!! I would call them and make sure you have the right dye if you have any doubts.
Here is a link to my results.. It's been a year and a half and all i have is a few hairline cracks in the drivers seat. The stuff is truely amazing however, a little overpriced. Leatherique Results Pics !!

Thank you for your opinion, ADAM BOURASSA. I tried to compared the fully dry paper sample and compare again with my car seats this morning, and the big difference still cannot convince me to process the final dying step. I would say that the dye in my hand is "Brazil" (dark grey) (code 263) rather than grey (code 268). It is very inconvenient as the car cannot be used or else very embarrassing to drive it with the interior in process...
In case if Leatherique can't correct it, is there any other possible way to source excatly the code 268 grey? ![]() |
