CarCover - Recommendations
I'm about to put my car away for the winter. I want to get a good car cover.
Outdoor use is not important, but I would like one I could use outside if I have to. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I won't go cheap either. What features DO I want, what features do I NOT want, what are nice but not needed. Any place recommended Looked at one at Eastwood for 160 (Evolution) that seemed to look good. Been looking at a couple of other places, but nothing has gotten my attention. |

This is what I have for my TD and SL.
1. Get it custom fitted, that way It will not blow off in any windstorms. I use the cover for the TD while the car is at the airport. 2. You must remove it occasionally and wash the car. Dust will get under the cover no matter which cover you have if stored outside. Unless you get this one. http://www.autoanything.com/carcover/carjacket.asp I see that your going to store it inside. The unit I pointed out will be good. Do a search on storage of a car. there are some things you should consider to preserve the car for the winter months. Dave

Thanks Dave, I think the car jacket is more than I need.
I still want something I can use outdoors once in a while, and I want to be able to use it even during the summer in the garage once in a while. I think the evolution is top on my list so far, but thanks Autoanything has it cheaper, always knew Eastwood was a little pricey. Storing it, I've done than before. A prior car just used a cheapo cover, paint was OK, not great. My little brother has a 92 Vette, with less miles than my 90 500SL. The other things I can handle, already have a Battery Buddy, I'll fill up the tank and a few other misc. But I hope to be able to at least pull it out monthly and warm it up good. Hopefully it'll only be put away for 4, maybe 5 months. Then in spring it goes to my mechanic for a complete service. Tuneup, Oil, flush Tran and Diff, flush brake system etc. The car has been taken care of, but nothing special. I had scanned through the other posts, but didn't see anything informative, except some issue's with the Noah. |
