odometer fix?
I've read up on the odometer fix using locktite and have a few questions. What gear do I want to put the locktite on? Looking at the odometer numbers I see a silver wheel directly next to the 1 mile marker. Then further to the right of that there is a gold gear that slips over the shaft and is turned by a plastic shaft below it. Thanks!

mdlwolf,
Try turning the gears with your finger to see if you can find one that slips on its shaft. That would be the one to put the cement or epoxy on. P E H |

I recently did the odometer repair and here is a link to the thread that helped me the most.
Just "Renewed" the instrument panel, lights and gauges and odometer Checking-in from the high-plains. |

Thanks for the help-
I was able to fix it this morning by doing the drill bit technique and using a pair of wire cutters to rough up the shaft where it rides on that silver gear. So far it seems good. Thanks again! |
