I pulled the IP pressure valve body-Now it misses

I had a leak from under the "ears" on my IP pressure valve, #1 cylinder, 85 300TD. The culprit was the rubber o-ring between the valve and body of the IP. Unfortunately, I was not aware that removal of the valve from the IP will alter fuel delivery characteristics.

Now there are no leaks, but there is a definite miss in the cylinder noticed at idle. Thinking it was the injector, I removed it, but it tested OK.

What can I do? Is there any way to tweak the valve back to correct position?
Thanks
Richard

I believe my manual cautions not to remove the part with the ears. The words are:

"Attention! Do not unscrew element assembly (2), since this would require another basic adjustment of injection pump on injection pump test bench (Fig. 2)"

So, I think that if you removed the flanged assembly below the delivery valve assembly, you will probably have to have the pump calibrated again, by a qualified shop. I would be inclined to take the car to a dealer and have them fix the problem, or a good independent mechanic if you know one you trust with removal and reinstallation of the injection pump. Good luck and I hope this helps, Jim

I guess it is time to break down and get a manual. What's the best source for a service manual on this vintage 123?

I agree that a manual is past due. I also agree that your injection pump needs to go to the injection shop.
