Cool Found a 1980 300sd for $200,

been sitting for 5 years. Ran when parked. Local shop has it. Owner never came to pick it up 5 years ago. Shop owner wants it gone for the cost of the repairs. Body is rust free. Interior is not the greatest. I will have to tow it home. Give me some pointers guys. I have two w126 300SD's but need some info on the w116.

Kevin

Just look out for rust, the W116 chassis loves to rust out... Out of all the ones I have looked at, only one didn't show any signs of surface rust...

Some engine/suspension parts are interchangeable with your 126, but not many.

I might be interested in some parts, or perhaps the entire car....where are you located?

I loved my W116. look wise i think the W126 is a little cooler, but the W116 drives a lot better. i hope u fix it up.

i think the basic drive train and such is very similar to the W126

best car ever built

Best car ever built check for rust if none found decide if you want to keep her. Then change all engine transmission fluids & filters put in fresh battery and fuel I bet a dollar she starts right up.

I must correct my mistake...

the car is a 1979 and I didn't find anything "rust" wise to be concerned about. The whole car is there and in remarkably good shape. It needs a good bath and internal "cleansing".

The engine fires but I didn't have the time or the resources on the spot to check it out in more depth. She should be here before dark. It's costing me $75 to have it towed 70 miles. That's not too bad.

cool! so good for you. Years ago I bought a 66 Chrysler 300 for $50. Started it after a few hours and drove it home. One of the best cars I ever had. Good luck!

you got a real problem, but I'll take it off your hands for what you have into it......I'm a real generous guy.

Would love to find a deal like that to have a twin on my current ride.
